Become a Volunteer

Our work is only possible thanks to the support of many generous and compassionate volunteers. We benefit from a strong group of regular volunteers who work in positions which may involve cooking, serving meals, befriending, clerical work or specialist skills and experience. Seasoned volunteers may be offered an opportunity to be involved in more challenging projects or initiate new ones.
As a rule, placements are for a set day each week for a period of six months or more.

Why volunteer with us?

  • Be an active participant in the Italian community in London
  • Gain a sense of fulfilment and purpose by making a positive difference to those in difficult circumstances and put to good use a capacity to listen, be with and care for others.
  • Be part of a dynamic team and take part in volunteer social activities.
  • Receive basic training in the social care and gain experience in working with a registered charity and with other agencies in London.
  • Put into action essential Christian values.
  • Gain access to spiritual guidance provided by the St Peter’s Italian Church.

We welcome volunteers who are open, non-judgmental and work well in a team. Experience in social assistance is ideal but not essential. We provide volunteers with regular training, both internally and with external agencies, throughout the year.
Due to our clientele, we ask that volunteers are conversant in English and Italian.

If you are interested in volunteering, please download and fill this application form, and send it back at info@stpetersproject.com.

Once we have received and reviewed your application, we may be in contact to arrange an interview. Due to government regulations, all potential Project volunteers need to go through a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. This will be carried out by the Project. Corporate partners

Helping someone back into the world of work can be an extremely rewarding experience. Since 2015, the St. Peter’s Project (SPP) has received an increasing number of Italians able and willing to work but without the relevant experience to access employment in the UK. The SPP works with employers who want to make a difference and help able men and women back into work.

If you would like to donate your products or services as a Corporate Partner, please contact us.

Agency partners

The St. Peter’s Project is working to develop a network of strong partnerships with agencies, other charities and organisations that are engaged in social care in London to ensure there is a joined-up approach to providing expertise, services and resources to adults and families in need in London. If you are an organisation working in this field, we would love to hear from you.
Typical areas of need facing our clients include:

  • Accommodation – short and long-term
  • Mental health care and support
  • Emergency medical care
  • Food and clothing
